SAVE

Sport Against Violence in Europe

SAVE as a project aims at stimulating and supporting European citizenship among young people and promoting sport as an instrument to prevent violence. Long-lasting relations between groups of young people and NGO from Bulgaria, Italy and Romania were born to be the prelude of shared future initiatives.

European Union plays a key role in life of each citizen. Institutions, rules, and programs must have a key role in cultural background of European citizens. New generations could not only grow and learn in their national contexts; they need the most appropriate instruments to be aware of belonging to wider communities and they have to be open-minded in order to take part to a democratic international life.

Students and teachers/leaders of associations (42 people) came from Plovdiv in Bulgaria and from Bucharest in Romania, to Turin and Cirié (Piedmont, Italy), towns where they took part in seminars and sport activities planned to increase their awareness of the rights, opportunities and duties, linked to European Citizenship, and on issues such as no violence in sport activities.
